My First Communion

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

A typical scene at the foot of Mexico's most important religious spot: The Basilica of Guadalupe. During my short visit there I saw at least 10 young girls, all dressed in white, ready to have their first communion. Not being religious my self it is very interesting to see all of these rites from an anthropological point of view. June '06

I really like the exposure of the surreal lighting. The cobble stones and tiling create a nice texture. It's a beautiful setup of the picture, it looks almost as though they are standing on light. Also nice setup of a gradual contrast from the little girls white dress to the man's dark suit. It's nice when serendipity works in your favor isn't it?

Hi Larry, thanks for the comments.
I hadn't even noticed the gradual fade from white to black, neat.
