Zeus

This is my dad, Benno George Alvaro, by the sea during one of our beach days this summer. We usually go to this small-fishing-out-of-the-way place called El Farallon, on the coast of Veracruz, Mexico. It's about an hour from Xalapa, where he lives. I'm not sure why he did this face but I liked the sea man/Zeus rugged look.

Great portrait, i love his expression and the framing's great. So he's from Costa Rica if i'm correct? Was he born there? He looks more Dutch but the name must mean he's not. So your mother is from The Netherlands than? Or am i mixing everthing up? :-)

Hehe Kris,
The confusions! that's basically my life trying to explain my confusing and unrooted roots. My dad, Benno, is the son of two Dutchies. My grandparents moved to Mexico from the Netherlands after the war. He was actually born in Mexico but he's made up of basically dutch genes. My mom is the one from Costa Rica. And although I am half and half I look much more European, everone in Central America thinks I am a tourist when I go back...
